White water course of Guise
« Un des bras de l'Oise traversant Guise transformé en parcours d'eau vive »

:: White water course > Guise

What distinguises the Oise River that runs accross the City of Guise from other rivers is that it is divided into several arms. One of these arms has been modified for the practise of white water sports. Concrete plates with inserts (called "caillebotis") have been placed on the river bottom for the positioning of the mobile obstacles Omniflots that are licensed by EDF. A threshold makes the crossing for kayaks easier. The obstacles can be positioned into the channel alongside the banks so that they don't obstruct the water transit during the flood periods.
