A roof gate is a metallic structure which function is to cut off or control the water flow of the white water course. Small boats can pass over the roof gate which generally consists of two parts:
the flap has to guarantee the watertightness to maintain water upstream and to control the flow admitted downstream by being more or less lowered.
The roof has to follow the wave coming on the flap into the downstream basin. It has deflectors to make attractive and secure water movements. The roof gate, which has been studied on a model in a laboratory, makes part of the white water course.
It's possible to install one or several emergency buttons that command the immediate rising of the roof gate to cut off the flow in the white water river.
