Bosmie-l'Aiguille Dam

Type of project Construction of a mixed fish passage on the Vienne

The Syndicat d’Aménagement du bassin de la Vienne Moyenne commissioned works on the Aiguille dam on the Vienne River. The weir is difficult to pass and dangerous due to the hydraulic jump downstream. A vertical-slot fish pass for upstream migration, built in 2003, already exists on the right bank. In 2008, the aim was to construct a passage structure for boats and upstream-migrating salmonids.

  • Location Bosmie-l'Aiguille
  • Project / construction cost 42 000 €
  • Years of completion 2008 / 2009
