Ecological continuity aims to maintain or restore two essential functions of rivers: the movement of aquatic species and the natural transport of sediments.

Upstream migration refers to the movement of fish towards the upper reaches of a watercourse. Hydrostadium designs facilities enabling migratory species to bypass obstacles, such as fish passes and other structures adapted to the characteristics of the site and the species concerned.
Downstream migration concerns the movement of fish towards the lower reaches of a watercourse. The objective is to enable their passage while limiting the risks associated with hydraulic structures and water intakes. Hydrostadium designs suitable facilities, such as fish-friendly water intakes, guidance systems and other structures that promote fish safety during migration.
Sediment transport contributes to the hydromorphological and ecological balance of watercourses. Hydrostadium supports project owners in the analysis and implementation of sediment management operations, particularly during desilting or dredging works, taking environmental and regulatory constraints into account.
