The Ré Bruyant stream is located within the territory of the municipality of Bessans, in the Haute Maurienne mountain range, in Savoie (73). Located between the Iseran and Mont-Cenis passes, the municipality of Bessans is part of the Arc river basin. The Ré Bruyant is a right-bank tributary of the Torrent d’Avérole, itself a left-bank tributary of the Arc. It rises below the summit of Albaron (3,637 m) and flows into the Avérole at an elevation of 1,818 mNGF, 350 m upstream of the hamlet of Vincendières.

The structures comprise:

  • A water intake (PE) located at an altitude of 2,238 m, of the COANDA type, to limit the size of the desander.
  • 1,160 m of fully buried penstock (CF), with a diameter of 400 mm;
  • A hydroelectric power plant equipped with a two-jet Pelton turbine.
