Hydrostadium was awarded a contract in February 2019, launched by Le Mans Métropole, to prepare a feasibility study concerning the installation of a new turbine (hydroelectric power generation unit) at the Epau dam (72).
The existing hydroelectric plant, which operates partly with two 8.50 m-diameter water wheels, dates from 1907, and the site's overall renovation project is expected to take place in 2020. Screw turbines, VLH and Waterwing—several fish-friendly options—will be proposed.
